Newcastle vs West Ham Betting Tips

Newcastle v West Ham

English EPL League. Saturday December 1. Kick-off 3pm.

THERE’S no fog of gloom on the Tyne after Newcastle reeled off three straight wins to climb four points clear of the danger zone.

Even Matt Ritchie’s miss of the season from two yards out in Monday night’s clash at Burnley didn’t end up costing them. And they’re looking to extend their four-game unbeaten run by nailing down another three points against the Hammers.

Despite having his hands tied behind his back in the transfer market by penny-pinching owner Mike Ashley, Rafa Benitez is now getting a tune out of a squad that is far from brimming with quality and wouldn’t lack out of place in the Championship.

The Spanish gaffer is a Magpies messiah and will be looking to devise a plan to outwit West Ham counterpart Manuel Pellegrini who splashed the cash in the summer but has little to show for it.

West Ham have the same 12-point haul as Newcastle after 13 games and have just one win in their last six matches.

They’ve been leaking goals too with their tally of one clean sheet this season the second-worst in the division behind Fulham.

The absence of injured playmakers Andriy Yarmolenko and Manuel Lanzini is a big blow. Marko Arnautovic, the Hammers’ best player this season, and Jack Wilshere are also doubts although former Toon cult hero Andy Carroll is set to turn out against his former club after making the bench last week.

West Ham have a poor record at St James’s Park, losing their last three visits, and another Newcastle win pays 29-20 at bet365 who make the safer option of the Magpies draw no bet 8-11.

Benitez’s side have kept just one clean sheet at home this season –  a 1-0 win over Watford who had enough chances to rack up a cricket score – and the Hammers have netted in four of six away days so btts is decent value at 17-20 with bet365.

Newcastle are averaging 6.7 corners at home this season and the Hammers just 3.8 on their travels so try the Toon -1 flag-kick at 6-5 with bet365.

West Ham United have control over Senegalese striker Diafra Sakho’s future, according to the Daily Mail.

The English news outlet reports that Sakho’s contract with West Ham includes a two-year option that the club can trigger to keep the attacker at the London Stadium.

The Teranga Lions man was left frustrated in the European summer after missing out on a move to French Ligue 1 club Rennes on deadline day.

West Ham are in a strong position with their two-year option on Sakho but could still award him an improved contract if he continues to perform.

The 27-year-old has worked his way back into contention for a regular first-team place under coach Slaven Bilic.

England defender Kieran Gibbs has stressed the importance of having Allan Nyom as his team-mate at West Bromwich Albion.

The two defenders are team-mates at the English Premier League side after Gibbs joined West Brom from Arsenal two months ago.

Gibbs, who is a left-back by trade, stated that Cameroon international Nyom – a full-back – has a character that brings the team ‘together off the pitch’ at the West Midlands-based outfit.

“I think they’re great lads,” Gibbs told Birmingham Mail.

“Allan Nyom springs to mind when I think of people. For me, he’s the heart of the team at the moment.

“From what I can gather over the first few weeks he’s the one getting people together more off the pitch,” the left-footed player added.

“He’s a really important character for the team.”

West Brom will travel to the King Power Stadium where they will take on Leicester City in a league match on Monday.

West Ham’s Kouyate could return after FIFA break – 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers – Africa

English Premier League (EPL) side West Ham United have provided an injury update regarding Senegalese international Cheikhou Kouyate.

Kouyate, who is nursing knee injuries, missed the Hammers’ 4-0 defeat to Manchester United in their first 2017/18 EPL game this past weekend.

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic has since revealed that the central midfielder will be fit for their EPL clash with Newcastle United on Saturday, 26 August 2017.

The Hammers welcomed Diafra Sakho, who is also a Senegalese international, back from a back injury this past weekend.

“We are expecting a few of them who were injured last season, along with Cheikhou and Manuel (Lanzini) from this pre-season,” Bilic told the club’s official website.

“Michail Antonio should be back for the game against Southampton and then Cheikhou, Manuel and even Andy Carroll should be there for the game against Newcastle in the third game of the season, or latest after the international break which is after that game.

“All of them will be back very soon and we can talk about that, but we had a decent team out on Sunday and I expected more.”

Sakho was introduced on the hour-mark against Manchester United. He made only four league appearances for the Hammers last season due to injuries.

After netting his first goal for West Browich Albion, Egyptian defender Ahmed Hegazi says he feels happy as they also won the match.

The Pharaohs international was on his debut in the English Premier League when they beat AFC Bournemouth on Saturday.

Hegazi is on loan from Egypt’s Al Ahly and netted his first goal in England in the 31st minute, deftly heading Chris Brunt’s cross from the right to beat Bournemouth’s goalkeeper, Asmir Begovic.

Hegazy said the clean sheet is what makes him happy as a defender and that a bright start was important for his team.

“It is a very good win and a fantastic feeling,” the 26-year-old player said on the club’s official website.

“The clean sheet is the first thing you think about as a defender. It’s very important to the team.

“To start well was very important for us. … The first game is always very important for the team and for the start of the season.

“We can take enormous confidence from this.”

In their next match, the Baggies will visit Burnley on Saturday at Turf Moor as they will want to bag their second win.

West Ham, Everton keen on Ivorian Wilfried Bony – 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers – Africa

West Ham United and Everton are reportedly both keen on signing Ivory Coast attacker Wilfried Bony.

The Elephants striker has struggled to win regular game time at Manchester City since his big-money move from Swansea City in 2015.

He spent last season on loan at Stoke City but failed to impress under Mark Hughes and saw almost no action in the second half of the campaign.

Bony has since returned to City but is clearly not part of their future plans under coach Pep Guardiola.

Yet despite his struggles at City and Stoke, Bony is still highly regarded for his prolific spell with the Swans from 2013 to 2015.

And Transfer Market Web reports that both West Ham United and Everton are keen on landing the player.

The Hammers are looking for a reliable striker to lead the line (with Andy Carroll injury-prone and Diafra Sakho’s future at the club uncertain), while the Toffees need a replacement for Romelu Lukaku.

Henry Onyekuru has been advised by Nigerian compatriot Victor Moses to choose West Ham United over Arsenal if and when he moves to the Premier League.

Onyekuru, who is currently on the books of Belgian side KAS Eupen, is set for a big-money move to England’s top flight, with the Gunners and the Hammers set to battle for his signature.

Moses has inside knowledge of West Ham, having spent a season on loan with the club, and according to the Daily Mail he has urged Onyekuru to choose them ahead of Arsenal.

“The Nigerian [Onyekuru] wants to play for the London Stadium side despite reports in Belgium saying Eupen wanted him to go to a more prestigious club,” claims the Daily Mail.

”Onyekuru, who has one international cap, has spoken to Chelsea‘s Victor Moses about living in London and has been encouraged to make the move to West Ham where Moses played on loan in 2015-16.”

Thursday Jun 08, 2017. 11:00

KAS Eupen’s Nigerian striker Henry Onyekuru could be set for a move to West Ham United in the European summer.

Arsenal have lodged an official bid for the player – who is reportedly keen on a move to the Emirates Stadium – but according to Sky Sports he is closer to joining their London rivals.

Onyekuru is currently on international duty with Nigeria as they prepare for a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa this weekend.

The 20-year-old will fly into England on June 12 to hold talks with a number of clubs.

Aside from the Gunners and Hammers, Swansea, Everton, Southampton and West Bromwich Albion are also keen on landing the young forward.

Onyekuru, who scored 24 goals for Eupen in the 2016/17 season, has a £7.85-million release clause in his contract and is expected to be a Premier League player next term.

East v West clash for KCCA, Rivers United – 2017 CAF Confederation Cup

KCCA FC players celebrate after scoring

by
Graeme Jackson

Saturday Jun 03, 2017. 13:00

KCCA and Rivers United will meet for an East v West clash in the CAF Confederation Cup this weekend.

The teams are slated to meet at the Phillip Omondi Stadium in Kampala on Saturday afternoon for their Group A, Matchday 3 clash. Kick-off is at 15h00 CAT.

Group A is intriguingly poised heading into the third round of games, with all four teams level on three points apiece. By the time KCCA and Rivers get underway on Saturday that will no longer be the case, with FUS Rabat playing host to Club Africain in Morocco on Friday night.

The Ugandan hosts will come into the match full of confidence after defeating Club Africain 2-1 in the previous Matchday, with Derrick Nsibambi and Tom Masiko scoring the goals in a come-from-behind win.

Likewise, the Nigerian visitors will look back on a 1-0 home win over FUS (with Emeka Atuloma scoring the only goal) and take momentum into this clash with KCCA.

Given that all for matches in this group have produced home wins, the Kampala side start as favourites, but United were arguably hard done by in their previous match on the road, a 3-1 loss to CA in Rades which was perhaps not a true reflection of their performance. And the Nigerians will see this trip to East Africa as their best shot of getting some away points in the bag.

This will be the first match in a double-header between KCCA and Rivers, with the return game in Port Harcourt scheduled for June 20.

Somali referee Hassan Mohamed Hagi will take charge of the match in Kampala on Saturday.

West Ham star Feghouli eyes Algeria recall

by
Austin Ditlhobolo

West Ham United midfielder Sofiane Feghouli is hoping to get a call-up to the Algerian national team ahead of their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Togo in Blida next month.

The Hammers star scored four goals in 27 appearances in all competitions for the English Premier League side after joining the club from Spanish outfit Valencia last July.

“First of all, the Premier League is a very different style of football to what I have experienced in La Liga, the Champions League and World Cups,” Feghouli told the club’s official website.

“Unfortunately, I was affected by some physical problems earlier in the season but that’s football and I’ll take what I’ve learned this year to improve for next season.

“I’d like to thank all of the West Ham supporters for the messages they’ve been sending me on social media. It’s important for the players to know that they are supported in this way,” he added.

“I’d also like to thank the Algerian fans around the world who continue to support me through the good and bad moments. I think it’s very important that we say thank you to them today.

“This summer, I’m hoping that I’ll be called for upcoming matches with Algeria. If I am called up, I’ll go away on holiday with my family after the national team matches

West Ham United are keen on signing Watford’s Nigerian striker Isaac Success, according to a representative of the player.

The Super Eagles man was a peripheral figure for Watford under manager Walter Mazzarri, who has since parted ways with the Premier League club, and he is seeking assurances that he will see more playing time next season.

“’It is true that West Ham are interested in signing Isaac Success. If he is not promised first team opportunities he will move before the window closes,” BJ Foundation boss Douglas Idahoso told Allnigeriasoccer.com.

The website also reports that the agency which is handling the talks on behalf of Success counts West Ham players Michail Antonio and Aaron Cresswell among their clients.

The 21-year-old Success will turn his attention to international football with Nigeria in the coming days as the Super Eagles tune-up for an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa next month.
