00h52 – Senegalese international midfielder Alfred N’Diaye, who was at Sunderland for a spell a year or so ago, has since joined Wolves on loan.
00h41 – Birmingham City were hoping to sign former Arsenal and Cameroon midfielder Alex Song on loan from Rubin Kazan, but that is now OFF. Birmingham couldn’t agree terms with his club for the loan.
00h29 – Sky sources: suggest that the deal sheets are in for Senegal’s Oumar Niasse’s transfer to Crystal Palace from Everton
00h00 – That is the end of the deadline day transfer period, unless clubs have submitted a deal sheet pre-deadline which will allow them another two hours to complete the deal
23h59 – SuperSport United have completed the signing of Sifiso Myeni on a season-long loan deal from PSL champions Bidvest Wits.
23h58 – Bongani Zungu has finalised his move to French Ligue 1 outfit, Amiens SC, signing a four year deal at the club.
23h56 – All issues regarding Senegalese international Diafra Sakho at West Ham have been resolved and he is staying at the club, according to Sky sources, who claim he could be offered a new deal.
23h54 – The Algeria international Ishak Belfodil joins the Weser-Stadion outfit from the Belgian topflight league on a loan deal. Werder Bremen have confirmed the signing of on loan from Standard Liege. Belfodil will spend the entire 2017-18 season on loan with the Green-Whites, with an option to buy at the end of the campaign.
23h53 – Newcastle have offloaded Moroccan Achraf Lazaar to Serie A side Benevento Calcio on loan.
23h52 – Diafra Sakho is staying at West Ham, according to Sky sources.
23h50 – Wilfried Bony puts pen to paper on a deal to rejoin Swansea City. It’s just a matter of when and not if Wilfried Bony officially completes his return to Swansea City from Manchester City now, as the striker has signed a deal at the Liberty Stadium. That of course then gives the green light to Tottenham to announce the day’s worst kept secret of Fernando Llorente moving to the north London club.
23h48 – Mali international Sambou Yatabare has joined Belgian topflight side, Royal Antwerp on season-long loan deal from Werder Bremen.
23h45 – Togo international Ihlas Bebou has completed his move from Fortuna Düsseldorf to Bundesliga side, Hannover 96. The 23-year-old penned a four-year deal with the Andre Breitenreiter’s men to end his six years stay at the Esprit Arena in the second tier of the German league.
23h42 – Hull City have confirmed the arrival of Mali’s Nouha Dicko from Wolverhampton Wanderers for an undisclosed fee on a three year contract.
23h40 – French Ligue 1 club, Dijon have announced the signing of Senegal international, Pappy Djilobodji on a season-long loan deal from English Championship side, Sunderland.
23h35 – Ivory Coast international Lacina Traore has joined Amiens from Ligue rivals, Monaco on a season-long loan deal.
23h30 – Rangers and Ghanaian strikerJoe Dodoo has joined Charlton on loan until January.
23h25 – Guinea-Bissaus’ Domingos Quina is staying at West Ham after his proposed loan to Sheffield United was called off.
23h10 – Jose Ferreira says that Phakamani Mahlambi will definitely not be leaving for another South African club in the current transfer window, shutting down talk of a move to African Champions Mamelodi Sundowns.
South African Premier Soccer League side, Maritzburg United have complete a deadline day signing of Cameroon midfielder Yazid Atouba from DR Congo giants AS Vita Clube.
23h05 – Latest news rumours suggest Algerian Riyad Mahrez has popped up in Paris. Not quite sure how true this is, but anything is possible on deadline transfer day.
22h45 – Tunisian and Sunderland midfielder Wahbi Khazri is not sticking around for a season in the Championship – he’s off to Rennes on loan and a return to France.
20h54 – Tunisian defender Aimen Belaid has left Rotherham United by mutual consent, the Sky Bet League One club have announced.
20h35 – Watford have complete the signing of Malian Molla Wague on a season-long loan from Udinese.
20h00 – It is not linked to Africa, but in a big move Paris St-Germain have signed £160m-rated forward Kylian Mbappe on a season-long loan from Monaco. The loan agreement includes an option for PSG to sign the France international on a permanent deal until June 2022. Any deal for the 18-year-old is likely to be eclipsed only by the 222m euros (£200m) PSG paid for Neymar.
19h30 – Wilfried Bony is set to complete his return to Swansea City before the transfer deadline after a deal was agreed with Manchester City. The Ivorian left the Liberty Stadium for the Etihad in 2015 for £25m, but now returns to Wales for £12m, coming as a piece of shrewd business by the Swans. Bony will now undergo a medical at Swansea after agreeing terms, with the deal coming just less than five hours before the transfer window slams shut.
19h00 – Leicester are clear in stating that no bids have yet been received for Algerian Riyad Mahrez on deadline day.
17h20 – Mamelodi Sundowns and Ajax Cape Town have reportedly agreed terms for the transfer of Bafana Bafana defender, Rivaldo Coetzee, who will join the Tshwane side after his deal to Scotland’s Celtic fell through.
17h15 – South Africa’s Cape Town City have confirmed the transfer of attacking midfielder Lebogang Manyama to Turkish Super League side Konyaspor FC.
16h05 – Senegal defender Papy Djilobodji has joined Dijon on a season-long loan from Sunderland.
15h45 – In news coming out of Germany, RB Leipzig have announced the signing of Kevin Kampl, who is seen as a replacement for Guinea star Naby Keita. The West African midfielder became a club record signing for Liverpool earlier this week, but will only move to Anfield ahead of the 2018/19 season.
15h20 – Ivory Coast star Jean-Michael Seri looks unlikely to join Arsenal after falling out with Nice over a failed move to Barcelona, but there are rumours that Paris-Saint Germain could bring the midfielder to Parc des Princes.
15h00 – If you’re a fan of Nigerian attacker Ahmed Musa, the good news is that he looks set to seal a loan move from Leicester City to Hull City. Read more here.
14h35 – Cameroon midfielder Alex Song looks to be on his way to Birmingham City, while Senegal striker Diafra Sakho has made it clear that he wants out of West Ham United, but the London club aren’t playing ball so far.
14h25 – In another piece of news, Ivorian striker Wilfried Bony looks set to leave Manchester City and return to Swansea, who are hoping to sign him as a replacement for Tottenham-bound Fernando Llorente.
14h15 – We’re also waiting on news for Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez, who was released from the Algeria camp (ahead of their World Cup qualifiers against Zambia) to complete a move to an unknown club. The mystery team appears to be none other than Barcelona, if the following Tweet is to be trusted:
14h00 – We begin our live coverage with news of a completed deal for Ivory Coast defender Serge Aurier, who has signed with Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur on a five-year deal. The Elephants right-back cost Spurs £23m from Paris Saint-Germain and arrives as a replacement for Kyle Walker.
