Manolas: Roma always the victims of VAR

Roma sweeper Kostas Manolas introduced a stinging attack on VAR after late controversy observed his side lose 3-1 to Porto in extra-time and be eradicated from the Champions League in the First Knockout Round.

Possessing direct from the initial leg 2-1, the Giallorossi ended up trailing by the very same score late in extra-time at Estadio Dragao and were being heading for a spot kick shootout, until finally Alessandro Florenzi was adjudged to have pulled Fernando’s shirt in the box.

Following a lengthy VAR consulation, Porto ended up awarded a place kick and Alex Telles fired home to knock Roma out 4-3 on aggregate.

On the other hand, with just minutes remaining, Lupi forward Patrik Schick was clipped in the penalty kick area by Danilo, despite the fact that the claims had been waved away by referee Cuneyt Cakir, main to Manolas hitting out.

“We go out with a bitter taste in our mouths,” the Greek defender told Sky Sport Italia. “I do not know how a place kick cannot be offered at this stage for this sort of a very clear offence [on Schick].

This is supposed to be the intent of VAR.
“The referee instructed us that he wouldn’t overview it and that there was absolutely nothing, but he should have absent to acquire a closer glimpse.

“They gave a place kick to Porto but denied a clear one for us. I’m sorry, but I don’t recognize why these matters constantly come about to us.”

Roma crashed out at the Initial Knockout Spherical for the fourth time in their previous five Champions League strategies.

Roma 2-1 Porto – Zaniolo makes his mark

A second half double from Roma’s teenage sensation Nicolo Zaniolo acquired his side a 2-1 win over Porto in their Champions League clash on Tuesday.

The 19-year-old found the net twice in six minutes to give his side a relaxed lead, but substitute Adrian Lopez’s absent goal means the tie is far from around going into the 2nd leg in Portugal.

It took 38 minutes for the initial exertion of note to arrive as Edin Dzeko raced on to a clipped ball into the channel, reduce within a defender towards the edge of the six yard box and fired a highly effective shot off the near post.

Roma broke the deadlock by Zaniolo on 70 minutes when he raced on to a lay-off from Dzeko to fire into the corner.

Just six minutes afterwards he doubled his team’s tally and Dzeko was the creator again, firing a prolonged variety shot off the post for Zaniolo to faucet in and come to be the youngest Italian to score two goals in a Champions League match.

Nevertheless, Lopez latched on to an sliced shot and found the net with 10 minutes remaining to give his side a lifeline in advance of the 2nd leg on Wednesday 6 March in Portugal.

Roma 0-2 Real Madrid – What Just Happened?

Roma’s hopes of topping their Champions League group were being dashed as Real Madrid ran out 2- winners at the Stadio Olimpico on Tuesday to close the Lupi’s eight-match unbeaten home run in the competitiveness.

Second-fifty percent goals from Gareth Bale and Lucas Vazquez were being adequate to guarantee the Spanish side to start with place in Team G with a game to spare, thanks to their superior head-to-head file over Roma, but Eusebio di Francesco’s side were being nonetheless certain a place in the knockout phases due to the fact of Viktoria Plzen’s win away to CSKA Moscow.

Roma vs Real Madrid Betting Tips & Preview

Roma vs Real Madrid

Champions League. Kick-Off: 8.00pm, Tuesday 27th November. Live on BT Sport ESPN.

SANTIAGO Solari’s reign as permanent boss at the Bernabéu got off to the worst possible start on Saturday when the mighty Real Madrid were humbled by lowly Eibar. The 3-0 defeat saw the current European Champions slip to 6th in La Liga, although the good news is that they’re still only five points off the top.

The Champions League may give Real a chance to escape their domestic woes but a trip to Rome is probably the last thing they need right now.

Both sides can secure qualification with a point and that would see Madrid finish ahead of Roma, if they both finish level on points, thanks to their head-to-head record. Madrid’s 3-0 win on Matchday 2 gives them the slight upper hand.

Roma failed to win on the road again at the weekend, falling to a 1-0 defeat at Udinese. They currently occupy 7th place in Serie A but unlike Real, they’re a long, long way away (18 points) from Juve who top the table.

Eusebio Di Francesco’s men can take some comfort from their home form however. They’re on a run of seven successive home wins in the Champions League and have lost just once at home in the league.

The draw is priced up at 13/5 with Hi bet365 and it would’nt be the biggest surprise given that it suits both teams. Alternatively you could look at an even number of goals at 17/20, which covers you for any kind of draw as well as the likes of 2-0, 3-1 etc either way.

Another interesting market available at bet365 is based around possession. When Real won at the Bernabeu they enjoyed 61% possession. 888 have the split set at 55.5% so there’s potentially quite a bit of margin there to play with. You can have 17/20 and if that’s your kind of thing it could be worth a look at.

Finally, goals! Over 2.5 goals have been scored in seven of the 11 previous meetings between these clubs and although Madrid are on a topsy-turvy run of form you wouldn’t back against them not scoring. They’ve failed to score in just one of their last 32 Champions League matches. Over 2.5 goals is just 1/2 which is a shocking price so instead, look for there to be a goal scored in last 15 minutes (75 mins or later) at 11/10.

Dzeko: I appreciate English football

Roma striker Edin Dzeko has admitted that he is even now in appreciate with English football and would be delighted to make a return to the Premier League.

The 32-year old lanky forward won the Premier League two times through his 4 and half years at Manchester City, right before making the swap to the Serie A in 2016.

Dzeko exposed that he would be delighted to make a return to England but is also knowledgeable that it will not be effortless due to his age.

The Bosnian has in modern many years been joined with a transfer to Chelsea but has remained with the Giallorossi.

“It can be probably as well late for me to return to the Premier League, but you never know: we are going to see,” Dzeko told at a Push conference in Bosnia.

“I appreciate English football, I performed in the Premier League for 4-and-a-half years and savored it a great deal, even if i am delighted at Roma right now.”

Roma should be wary as new-appear AC Milan request to get back Serie A footing

Roma go into Friday’s significant match with resurgent AC Milan with a point to prove. The Giallorossi conceded three goals and sixteen pictures to Atalanta’s reserves ahead of at some point blasting again to draw 3-3 on Monday evening, which adopted a gritty season-opening win at Torino that was a worthless indicator of the rest of the season.

For the last 5 yrs Roma have together with Napoli been the only two teams able of getting within just binocular range of Juventus, but in the summer time Milan determined to get really serious. Fresh from wriggling no cost of disastrous Chinese ownership and now basically with some funds, the club is producing a bid to return to the top rated — and Roma are squarely in their way.

Roma comfortably gained their last three at the San Siro, and even though it truly is only the third week of the season Friday’s match will be an indicator of exactly where both teams are at in their growth.

Milan impressed for large chunks of their 3-2 defeat at Napoli last weekend, searching considerably a lot more like a team prepared to drive for Champions League football than they have in a really prolonged time. Rino Gattuso has moulded a rugged aspect in his image and has the fantastic fortune to have Gonzalo Higuain — Serie A’s most lethal striker — bestowed upon him.

It will be down to Higuain — and fellow new arrival Mattia Caldara — to halt the Rossoneri‘s appalling record against Serie A’s significant guns that has witnessed them win only 10 and lose more than half of the fifty one matches they’ve played against Juve, Inter, Napoli, Roma and Lazio because the start out of the 2013-fourteen season.

Milanisti are dreaming of greater matters following their liberating summer time, whilst Roma proceed to flog the loved ones silver in the hope of uncovering diamonds somewhere else and maintaining their place in the funds-spinning Champions League.

Roma’s sale of considerably-cherished midfielder Kevin Strootman on Tuesday — the bete noire of Lazio fans all over the place thanks to two episodes of high-class chicanery in recent Rome derbies — arrived as a different blow to fans fearful about a decline of character in their team.

Strootman and former teammate Radja Nainggolan have been adopted Romans, players who connected with supporters and who gave a feeling of identity to a team that each and every yr sees a raft of adjustments. In his goodbye Strootman stated that it was time for a alter, but any person who saw the expression on his face as he sloped off to Marseille could not assistance but believe that this was a move desired a lot more by the club than the player, particularly offered the timing and the reality that a tidy financial gain was made on his sale — anything Roma have obtained really fantastic at executing more than the earlier several yrs.

“He desired to make a alter and try out anything new … I want players that have the wish to have on the shirt and give all the things,” stated coach Eusebio Di Francesco. “When a player asks for a alter I don’t keep any person again mainly because the crucial detail is that a player wants to stay.”

Almost as unpleasant as the Dutchman’s expression as he whizzed earlier reporters was the general performance on Monday of the two players earmarked to switch him. Lorenzo Pellegrini and Bryan Cristante stood stunned as Atalanta’s hyper-intense urgent hemmed Roma in like a flock of bewildered battery chickens, whilst ageing Daniele De Rossi did his finest to halt the cost with a pair of large last-ditch tackles. Issues changed once new signing Steven N’Zonzi arrived on at half-time, next his outstanding debut at the Stadio Olimpico.

Whether or not Di Francesco decides to stick with the 4-2-3-1 development that permitted N’Zonzi to connection so nicely with De Rossi and Javier Pastore and keep on being ahead is a different make any difference completely, while if centre-backs Kostas Manolas and Federico Fazio arrive out in their flip-flops like they did on Monday then Higuain will be just as brief to punish them as Atalanta’s children have been.

You will find a sense-fantastic variable up in Milan these days. In excess of sixty,000 fans are expected at the San Siro for the clash, as fans hope for a return to former glories and swat Roma again down to the place of presumed inferiority the flashy northerners have often assumed for the reviled money. It’s down to Roma to present them that they’re nonetheless a power to be reckoned with.

Roma owner James Pallotta talks Champions League, Serie A and Mo Salah

As Roma prepare to acquire on Liverpool in the Champions League semifinals, owner James Pallotta sat down with ESPN FC’s Mark Donaldson to talk via the club’s unbelievable march to the closing 4.

MD: Jim, thank you for having us. It truly is a massive few of months for oneself and for Roma. Is it nerves or pleasure appropriate now?

JP: It truly is truly, almost certainly, neither, appropriate now. I suggest it appears to be to be the calmest I have been for the 5 years or so I have been with the team. When we played Barcelona in Rome, I think it was the very least total of nerves that I have experienced of any game due to the fact it was just all upside and I considered if we played very well we experienced a shot, but profitable 3- like that was what we necessary to do, so I was not nervous at all, I’m usually extra nervous at typical video games like this weekend, you know, pacing my property.

MD: It will never shock most people today to know that you are heading to the United Kingdom, you fly afterwards tonight. You might be not heading to the game, why?

JP: It’s possible not, due to the fact I have my superstitions. I suggest I didn’t go to the final game in this round in Barcelona and then went to the home game and so I variety of keep undertaking individuals same issues. It truly is just general things like that transpires that I have. If I go back to the times participating in basketball, from high school and on, I would put my still left a sock on initially then my appropriate, my still left shoe then my appropriate, tie my still left shoe then tie my appropriate. If my appropriate shoe arrived undone, then I would have to go back and untie my still left, retire that a single, do the appropriate, so you know, I have got these small quirks.

MD: So where by are you heading to observe the game?

JP: I’m not heading to publicly say, but there is an Italian cafe in London that Franco Baldini and a couple of-of us have watched video games in the past so we will be upstairs in a single of individuals.

MD: I consider (Liverpool owner) John Henry is not heading to the game either. You you should not want to observe the game with him?

JP: I think John’s keeping in Boston, but I think he is heading to the game in Rome.

MD: Now for most it can be a Champions League semifinal, but for you and John it can be also a Boston derby as very well. Which is a variety of funky as very well is not it?

JP: Yeah it can be variety of neat, pretty attention-grabbing.

MD: The reality that you and he could have been business companions back in the day that could have improved your whole outlook on who you are and whereby you are in sport.

JP: I’m not confident we would have been companions unless of course, you might be chatting about the Red Sox.

MD: With the Red Sox sure.

JP: Very well with the Red Sox, if I have absent with the Red Sox, it would have been as a trader and a minority associate in it. I experienced looked at it with some other people today and we didn’t get manager of the Red Sox and John and his team and Tom and Larry got it. You know, when you appear back on it, I just you should not see how it can be attainable that we would have finished as good a career as what John and Tom and Larry and the rest of them have finished with the championships, and it can be been incredible for them.
MD: Very last June, sunny day, lunchtime in Boston, you experienced lunch with John Henry and you did the Mohamed Salah deal or definitely talked about it. Did they get a bargain at €42 million?

JP: Very well, when you appear at it now, you can say it can be an unbelievable bargain. The problem at the time was that when (director of football) Monchi arrived in, Salah wished to depart, he experienced a calendar year still left on his agreement so in another calendar year, you’d get nothing at all. He wished to go back (to the Premier League) and establish himself, which he definitely has finished. We won’t be able to tell you that any individual else was calling for Salah at anywhere near that variety of value, so there is plenty of teams that have missed out on the fantastic player he is experienced this calendar year.

MD: You had been stuck with the tab for lunch as very well I consider?

JP: I explained to him that due to the fact he was sort of bitching a small about, “Did we overpay? I think we overpaid,” and I explained, “I will invest in your lunch.”

MD: I suggest he is just been named the Player of the 12 months. Are you surprised by what he is finished this season?

JP: Actually, sure. And the motive is almost certainly due to the fact appear, we utilized him in another way than Liverpool have. They figured out the finest way to employ him. At the time, we experienced him as a winger and you got (Edin) Dzeko in the middle and Dzeko’s scoring 36 goals himself final calendar year, so it can be not like we didn’t have another person in there tearing up the league final calendar year. So with Dzeko there, it improved a great deal of how Salah would be applied, and they figured out how to use him a small in another way and he is substantially extra in the middle it appears to be like.

Exactly where I’m surprised, is how fantastic he is ending. I suggest I think he would say that in Rome, although he experienced a bunch of goals, his stress was not ending the same way and now you get the ball near his toes and it just appears to be like he is figured a way to put it in the net. Do they have more substantial nets in the Premier League? It truly is just been incredible viewing him and just about every time he scores I’m like, “Oh pricey God!”

MD: Some players when facing their previous teams celebrate, some you should not. Have you experienced any correspondence with him and talked about everything about that?

JP: No, but I know plenty of our players have. He’s near to a lot of our players and I know that our electronic team experienced tweeted out appropriate off the bat about individuals one hundred eighty minutes will be a war but Salah will be a mate for lifestyle and he responded appropriate back. So there is a good romantic relationship there. I hope that he receives a fantastic ovation when he comes back to Rome, I won’t be able to see any motive why the fans would not definitely give him a fantastic ovation, at the very least at the beginning of the game.

MD: Jurgen Klopp in his information conference requested Liverpool fans to be respectful to Roma and their team bus right after what occurred to Manchester City. What do you make of individuals responses?

JP: I think Liverpool and Man Metropolis have a small diverse heritage than Roma and Liverpool do. It appears to be like there had been some diverse factors, although I’m not heading to condone everything that was heading on with that bus, I think it can be absurd. I definitely would not have predicted that Roma coming there, that there would be any concerns, I would hope not. I think the Liverpool fans are higher than that, and like the Roma fans ought to, say “we are the two in the semis, this is fantastic, let’s cheer rather than go ridiculously another way.”

MD: Speaking of the Roma fans, how has your romantic relationship improved, between when you initially took more than and how it is now?

JP: I think when I initially took more than and our group took more than, “The Individuals,” you know there was a great deal of, “Who are these Individuals? Why are they coming listed here?” and so on. and so on. Many concerns like that. I think we necessary to establish that we weren’t in it for a short time period of time, hoping to make a speedy buck and that we had been definitely hoping to invest into Rome and develop it into anything.

We are nevertheless early stages in spite of the successes we have experienced at the very least acquiring into the Champions League the final bunch of years, most just about every calendar year, and a single Europa and heading to the semis. So I think it was a “establish it” sort of factor and I can realize that. I think my stress from time to time was a little group of fans that would go up on their possess agenda, not realizing that we had been hoping to do the appropriate issues, and they would get upset that I frankly may possibly not have understood. I think issues look to be pretty good appropriate now, but you know, hey, give me another 7 days.

MD: You might be eating at European football’s prime table appropriate now, you might be in the final 4 of the Champions League. Two teams would almost certainly be capable to defeat you for any player you want in PSG and Man Metropolis. It truly is a little bit of an oxymoron, they will be viewing you on Tv set although you will be participating in Liverpool in the semifinal.

JP: Correct. You will find a bunch extra teams than that that are truly in there that are not in it. I suggest Manchester United have a great deal extra cash than most of us do and Chelsea have a great deal extra cash than most of us, so it can be not just individuals two. To be continually in that prime eight or 10 I think it obviously takes a few of issues and a single is a good profits stream which they have so it would not shock me if they’re back and back a prolonged time, so when we get our stadium and our leisure complex as very well as acquiring extra styles of sponsorship offers like we announced for the shirt sponsor.

I think extra of that will get us into acquiring back into being capable to continually get into a closing eight sort of circumstance. But then yet again, it can be not heading to be just cash. So the motive why, a calendar year ago, we wooed and got Monchi in was due to the fact of his knowledge in dealing with scenarios that have substantially lower budgets and obtaining players may be young or haven’t been discovered to create a good team and he did a fantastic career with that.

MD: So how do you get from the Roma of now to the Roma that a Salah and a (Miralem) Pjanic in years to arrive you should not want to depart and others want to join them there with the profits streams and every little thing else?

JP: Glimpse, initially of all, I think just about every team has players that go and go to another place. Glimpse at Juventus, they lose (Paul) Pogba, there is individuals scenarios heading on at all the teams whereby people today depart, I’m acquiring information all day prolonged that this a single would like to depart a massive team. How does Neymar possibly go back due to the fact he won’t want to stay at PSG? I’m not so worried about that, in the circumstance in the case of a Salah, he wished to go back to the Premier League and experienced anything to establish there. Pjanic is just an easy factor, he experienced a buyout clause. We would like to have considerably less of individuals than we do and function with considerably less of individuals buyout clauses but from time to time you won’t be able to do everything about it so we definitely didn’t have a selection with him either.

MD: Finish this sentence for me: In 5 years time you hope Roma will…

JP: Have a stadium and win a Champions League and win an Scudetto and win a Coppa Italia and maybe allow me keep what small hair I have still left.

MD: Which is aiming high. For now, you won’t be able to win this year’s Scudetto but you can play a portion. What an ending to the season this could be with Juve and Napoli right after their win in Turin, but Roma could have a portion to play nevertheless.

JP: You will find 4 massive games as far as I’m worried. We have to get in Champions League a single way or another as I explained two months ago and we took treatment of business in the final few of games. We have got some massive video games still left, Juve being a single of them, but just about everyone a single is a rough game. You appear in the league and you see Benevento profitable 1- [more than Milan] and you just appear at these games. The Italian league is an extremely, extremely, extremely tricky, tactical, strategic league so we won’t be able to appear and say Juve when we have 3 other games that on paper from time to time people today may think they appear easy but they’re just not, they’re not that easy.

MD: Have you ever been to Kiev [the location for the UCL closing]?

JP: I have not, no. I truly know whereby it is on a map, but I haven’t been there. It truly is an attractive metropolis. I was with a mate of mine yesterday, who is formerly from there, 35-moreover years ago and we had been chatting about the metropolis. I would really like to go.

MD: But you have superstitions: You only go to home video games. If Roma receives to the closing it is not a home game for you. Absolutely nothing would keep you away from the closing?

JP: It truly is not a home game for whoever we may possibly be lucky adequate to play either.

MD: Absolutely nothing would keep you away?

JP: No, you should not think so.

MD: Last problem, you necessary a towel and anything to dry oneself off right after you made the decision to go for a small dip in a fountain?

JP: 3, due to the fact I was sitting there for the next two hrs taking in at the Backyard garden of the Russie and so I experienced towels all more than me.

MD: Enable me quickly forward to next Wednesday. If Roma are to defeat Liverpool at home, would you have a dip in the same fountain and could you pay for the wonderful?

JP: Very well the wonderful was nothing at all, I suggest the €450 was not that bad, it was what I explained later on of providing the €230,000 to resolve the fountain in front of the Pantheon, so the fines are nothing at all. I think I’m finished with the fountain things but there is a great deal of other good things there.

It was important that we picked ourselves up just after a tough week. As for the records, it is really usual that these players maintain on breaking records.

“But it was a basic win in several senses. I am pleased to start with of all with the a few points. It was 10 points needed to win the league, now it is really seven with just eighteen to play for.

“I’m also pleased since of the week we’ve had. The environment all around the club this week has been a minor gloomy and we needed to set the brakes on that and stand up and be counted. In that feeling, I have to congratulate the players since it is really not uncomplicated just after the big disappointment they had.

“The sensation is that we have failed, that we have unhappy the supporters, but we have to glance forward and not lose sight of what we can however accomplish this season.”

The win against Valencia suggests a seventh league title in 10 yrs now appears like a formality for Barca, but they however have some operate to do if they want to stop the season unbeaten.

Riyad Mahrez still wanted by Roma – 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers – Africa

Monchi, the sporting director of Roma, says his club remains hopeful of signing Leicester City’s Algerian star Riyad Mahrez, despite failing with three bids.

Sky Italia claims that Roma have recently had a third offer of £31.8m – a club record for the Serie A giants – rejected by the Foxes, following previous bids of £20m and £27m.

“I’m optimistic in life, by nature. Rome is doing everything possible to take the player,” Monchi said at the unveiling of another new signing, Gregoire Defrel.

“I am happy with the effort the club is making to take him. It is close to the limit. I do not think the club has often bid over €30m.

“If my memory does not deceive me, the latest offer would be the club’s most expensive purchase in our history.

“We are, therefore, engaged and expect an answer. But it is true that we are working on other solutions.”

Roma will suffer for not having Mohamed Salah in their team in the upcoming Serie A season, according to Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti.

The Egyptian moved to Liverpool in a big-money deal earlier in the transfer window and Ancelotti reckons the Giallorossi will struggle without him.

“Roma? I find it a bit hard to work them out. They’ve changed coach and I’ve followed [Eusebio] Di Francesco for some time,” said the Bayern boss in evaluating the Serie A title contenders.

“I thought he did very well with Sassuolo, but the loss of [Mohamed] Salah, I believe, will be felt.

“We’ll also see how their first season will be without a monument like [Francesco] Totti in the dressing room,” he added.

Ancelotti added that Juventus remain the favourites to win the Italian championship, though he has noted AC Milan’s impressive work in the transfer market.

Roma are hoping to wrap up a deal for Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez in the very near future, with director of football Ramon Rodriguez, better known as Monchi, set to haggle over money.

Rai Sport reports that Monchi is set to meet with his Foxes counterpart Eduardo Macia today and try to come to an agreement over a transfer fee.

Roma have bid €35m for the 26-year-old North African, but Leicester are demanding €44m.

The English side feel comfortable in demanding a high fee, knowing that compatriots Arsenal are also keen on signing Mahrez.

However, Roma have a back-up plan, with Monchi reportedly set to turn his attention to Juventus’ Juan Cuadrado if he cannot land Mahrez.

Either Mahrez or Cuadrado will serve as a replacement for Egyptian Mohamed Salah, whom Roma sold to Liverpool earlier in the transfer window.

Roma are reportedly edging ever closer to signing Algeria international Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City.

Mahrez, 26, has been heavily linked with a move to the Italian club, who are desperate to fill the void left by Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian winger joined Liverpool in a big money move ahead of the 2017-18 season.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Mahrez will undergo a medical on Wednesday ahead of an expected £31.3million switch to the Giallorossi.

Mahrez has continued playing for the 2015-16 Premier League champions in pre-season despite telling the Foxes that he was eager to leave the club.

With Kelechi Iheanacho to complete a reported move to Leicester City from Manchester City it seems as if Mahrez will finally get his wish. Arsenal and Tottenham have previously been linked with a move for the wing-wizard.

Leicester City’s Algerian star Riyad Mahrez is a transfer target for Serie A giants Roma, according to Sky in Italy.

Mahrez has been on Leicester’s books since signing from Le Havre in 2014 and helped them claim an unlikely Premier League triumph in 2015/16, earning the PFA Player of the Year prize in the process.

The Fennec Foxes player also helped Leicester reach the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League last season.

However, in May he handed in a transfer request in an effort to force through a move away from the King Power Stadium, with the likes of Barcelona and Arsenal reportedly interested in signing the player.

Leicester manager Craig Shakespeare told Sky Sports last week that the club had yet to receive any offers for Mahrez, but this new interest from Roma may open up a new chapter in the saga.

The Italian club could view the Algerian as a replacement for Mohamed Salah, whom they sold to Liverpool last month.

Nigeria youth international Umar Sadiq has announced his return to Italian Serie A giants AS Roma.

The 20-year-old striker spent the 2016/17 season out on loan at Serie A club Bologna.

During his spell at Bologna, Sadiq made only seven league appearances without netting a single goal.

“My loan spell with Bologna didn’t go too well. Injuries slowed me down,” Sadiq told Liberty Radio.

“I’m fully fit now and back at Roma. Hopefully I will travel to team up with them for pre season,” he said.

“There’s a new coach at Roma and that means a fresh start for everybody,” he added.

“I’m eager, fully fit and rearing to prove my worth to him if given the chance in pre season.”

Roma reportedly paid £2 million when they signed Sadiq from Italian Serie B side Spezia at the end of the 2015/16 season.

Report: Roma will have to sell Salah for financial reasons – 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers

Liverpool target Mohamed Salah will have to be sold by Italian giants Roma in the European summer, according to a fresh report.

Tribalfootball Rome correspondent Matteo Vitale reports that the Giallorossi must sell Salah in order to meet Financial Fair Play targets.

“Salah has long been in talks with Liverpool. Giallorossi need to sacrifice at least one player in order to satisfy Financial Fair Play terms, plus they have to pay several options for outright transfers,” Vitale said.

“For example, the new sports director Monchi has to buy Bruno Peres, Mario Rui and Juan Jesus and they’re sure to cost more than €35 million.”

Liverpool have made it clear that they are keen on bringing Salah – a former Chelsea player – back to the Premier League, but have baulked at Roma’s asking price for the Pharaohs wingers.
