Didier Drogba: Jose Mourinho admires Paul Pogba a lot
Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba has stated that the tensioned relationship that seems to exist between United manager, Jose Mourinho, and star player, Paul Pogba is because the Portuguese tactician believes so much in the French midfielder’s talent and is quite keen on his development.
The Man United pair has been consistent in newspapers’ headlines in recent weeks as many believe that Mourinho isn’t happy with Pogba’s display lately which has led to him being dropped from the starting X1 a number of times now.
His national team boss, Didier Deschamps admits that the former Juventus player cannot be happy with his situation at Old Trafford, with Scott McTominay having been preferred by Mourinho in recent games.
Drogba, who played a significant role in Mourinho’s outstanding Chelsea side of 2004/2005, spoke to Telefoot about his ex-manager’s behavior and played down any suggestion that the two are not getting along.
“It’s been hot between us [Drogba and Mourinho],” the Ivorian said. “But Jose is never going to attack people he does not like.
“He likes Paul a lot. That’s why he’s given him a lot of responsibilities.”
The 25-year old has featured in 27 games for United this season, scoring three goals and providing 10 assists.
