Newcastle vs West Ham Betting Tips

Newcastle v West Ham

English EPL League. Saturday December 1. Kick-off 3pm.

THERE’S no fog of gloom on the Tyne after Newcastle reeled off three straight wins to climb four points clear of the danger zone.

Even Matt Ritchie’s miss of the season from two yards out in Monday night’s clash at Burnley didn’t end up costing them. And they’re looking to extend their four-game unbeaten run by nailing down another three points against the Hammers.

Despite having his hands tied behind his back in the transfer market by penny-pinching owner Mike Ashley, Rafa Benitez is now getting a tune out of a squad that is far from brimming with quality and wouldn’t lack out of place in the Championship.

The Spanish gaffer is a Magpies messiah and will be looking to devise a plan to outwit West Ham counterpart Manuel Pellegrini who splashed the cash in the summer but has little to show for it.

West Ham have the same 12-point haul as Newcastle after 13 games and have just one win in their last six matches.

They’ve been leaking goals too with their tally of one clean sheet this season the second-worst in the division behind Fulham.

The absence of injured playmakers Andriy Yarmolenko and Manuel Lanzini is a big blow. Marko Arnautovic, the Hammers’ best player this season, and Jack Wilshere are also doubts although former Toon cult hero Andy Carroll is set to turn out against his former club after making the bench last week.

West Ham have a poor record at St James’s Park, losing their last three visits, and another Newcastle win pays 29-20 at bet365 who make the safer option of the Magpies draw no bet 8-11.

Benitez’s side have kept just one clean sheet at home this season –  a 1-0 win over Watford who had enough chances to rack up a cricket score – and the Hammers have netted in four of six away days so btts is decent value at 17-20 with bet365.

Newcastle are averaging 6.7 corners at home this season and the Hammers just 3.8 on their travels so try the Toon -1 flag-kick at 6-5 with bet365.

‘It’s a manhunt’: Mourinho slams critics soon after United escape

Jose Mourinho accused his critics of staging a “manhunt” to get him sacked soon after Manchester United rescued their underneath-fire manager with a remarkable 3-2 win over Newcastle on Saturday.

Just hrs soon after a report emerged that Mourinho would be sacked regardless of United’s result against Newcastle, his team had been rocked at Old Trafford as they conceded two goals in the opening 10 minutes.

But soon after being booed off at half-time, United prevented likely five games with out a win thanks to a thrilling second half fightback.

Juan Mata’s free-kick was adopted by Anthony Martial’s equaliser, setting the phase for a ninetieth minute winner from Alexis Sanchez, who experienced been dropped by Mourinho right before coming off the bench in the second half.

Irrespective of whether Mourinho keeps his job stays to be found, but the former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss came out combating subsequent weeks of criticism of his dealing with of United’s squad, sparked by his fall out with star midfielder Paul Pogba and other essential players.

“As a close friend of mine was declaring to me this morning, if it rains in London tomorrow, it truly is my fault. Brexit, it truly is my fault. I have to be all set for this. There is a large amount of wickedness and a crystal clear manhunt,” Mourinho reported.

“In the close we received the match and I assume we deserved to win. I assume the fans deserved to win. At 2- at half-time, with all the dynamic of the man-looking, I assume they behaved amazingly perfectly for the team. This is what a football club is.

“The sector I perform in is distinctive, a large amount of wickedness, also much wickedness in some thing that must be gorgeous.

“For me it truly is not quick but I assume life is made of encounters and some are new and some are deja vu. This is new but I assume it can make me a improved manager and a improved person due to the fact I recognize points in human character.”

– ‘I can cope’ –Mourinho insisted he wouldn’t be afflicted by the doubters declaring he has lost regulate of his club and is destined for the axe.

In its place, he claimed the criticism was much more of a dilemma for players who froze underneath the highlight.

“In the most significant clubs in the world there are intervals with a large amount of meat and intervals with a large amount of bones,” he reported.

“I am fifty five several years old, I am mature, I can cope with it and are living with being hunted. I assume some of the boys are not coping perfectly with it.

“The way they started the game was panicking. I assumed at some moments we could score in our own goal. It really is not quick for them.

“I cope with it, with some disappointment, but I am a large boy. Plainly some of the boys, Marcus Rashford was sad on the pitch, Scott McTominay was afraid on the pitch. All the players committed issues that had been not ordinary.”

Amid all the discuss of shattered associations with Pogba, Eric Bailly, Luke Shaw and Antonio Valencia, who was still left out of the squad, Mourinho was adamant the fightback showed he retains the squad’s assist.

“It really is absurd discuss to say they you should not play for the manager, they play for the club. It really is not about that,” he reported.

“What I questioned the players is to give absolutely anything.

“This is not about me, this is not about the players, this is about the club, and in the second half the players gave absolutely anything. Absolutely nothing much more to give.”

Ayoze Perez: We have to fight for every point now

Ayoze Perez: We have to fight for every point now

Ayoze Perez, Newcastle

Ayoze Perez

Newcastle United forward, Ayoze Perez has stated that at this point of the season, every point is more like gold for them and they are determined to fight for it.
The Magpies are positioned 13th on the league table, however, they are only four points away from the relegation zone as we sail towards the tail end of the season.
The last game they played was their 3-0 victory over Southampton two weeks ago. Due to Tottenham’s involvement in the FA Cup, they will have to wait until next weekend before kicking a football again. This has prompted the team to travel to a four-day training camp in Spain where they faced Belgian side, Royal Antwerp.
While speaking with nufc.co.uk, the 24-year old Spanish International said: “It was a great couple of days; good weather, great training sessions and a great game as well, to keep the fitness up.
“It wasn’t really sunny, not really hot, but it was I think the proper weather for football, the right temperature, so it was really good. We had three days of spending time together and training really hard with double sessions, so in terms of hard work, we did it.
“It was the right idea to get a friendly game, with 21 days without football. The legs need to keep working, and we did it well.

“Now, we’re back in Newcastle and we’ve still been working really hard, so it’s been a great idea to keep ourselves fit. Now we have a couple of days off (the players have Saturday, Sunday, and Monday off) to rest ourselves and get back fresher.
“For the last few days, it’s been back to normal. We’ve still been training a lot; great training sessions, hard work, trying to improve little things. We haven’t had the international boys but we’ve still been working and trying to make sure we are doing a lot of positive things.”

Newcastle step up interest in Mangala

Pqremier League side, Newcastle have reportedly stepped up their interest in Manchester City defender, Eliaquim Mangala as the end of transfer window draws closer.

The French International has been kept on the bench for the majority of his 3years at the Etihad stadium after completing a £32 million transfer from FC Porto in 2014.

He had some game time in 2015/16 Premier League season but performed below standard and has since then struggled to get a consistent run of matches after returning from his loan to Valencia in 2017/18.

He featured in 30 league games for the Spanish side in 2016/17, it was expected that he will be signed permanently but somehow, he found himself in Manchester again where his future is now under serious threats.

Injuries to former Everton defender, John Stones and Club captain, Vincent Kompany at different times two seasons ago saw him return to the starting line-up for some games although his inconsistency and repeating errors led to loud disinterest in him from the club fans.

With the arrival of new signing Aymeric Laporte from Athletic Bilbao and Argentine, Nicolas Otamendi alongside regular starter John Stones and Vincent Kompany at the center of City’s defense, it is evident that the competition for places will be even tougher and it is most likely the 26-year old will be shipped off to another club.

Newcastle seemed to be in a pole position to capitalize on the several options of City but we are yet to be sure if this will materialize before the end of the transfer window in few hours.

PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: Christian Atsu – Newcastle need their Ghana star to return – 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers

by
Graeme Jackson

Monday Nov 27, 2017. 13:00

Ghanaian Christian Atsu was again absent as Newcastle United slumped to a fourth successive defeat on Saturday.

The Magpies were given a chastening 3-0 beating at home by Watford, with Atsu missing a second successive match following the thigh injury he supposedly aggravate while on international duty with the Black Stars.

The loss to the Hornets is a fourth in succession for Rafael Benitez’s side, who have also been beaten by Burnley, Bournemouth and Manchester United in the sequence.

The defeat to United at Old Trafford is to be expected given the difference in the respective teams’ ambitions, but the losses against the other three will be major worries for Newcastle fans.

The club has dropped to 13th place on the log and is just four points above the relegation zone.

The good news is that Atsu is nearing a return from injury, with Benitez revealing last week that the winger is making encouraging progress.

The Magpies may even be tempted to fast-track his return when they face West Bromwich Albion in a midweek Premier League clash at the Hawthorns tomorrow night.

Short of that, they’ll definitely want him for the high profile match away to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, December 2, where Atsu’s pace and penetration on the counter attack could be a key facet of their game plan.

PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: Christian Atsu – Newcastle manager not blaming Ghana for injury – 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers

Newcastle United’s Christian Atsu

by
Graeme Jackson

Monday Nov 20, 2017. 13:00

With Christian Atsu currently on Newcastle United’s injury list, manager Rafael Benitez has refused to blame Ghana for the player’s unavailability.

The 25-year-old Black Stars winger missed the Magpies’ 4-1 defeat away to Manchester United this past weekend with a thigh injury.

The player first sustained the injury while playing for Newcastle against his former side Bournemouth ahead of the recent international break.

He then flew out to join the Ghana squad ahead of their 2018 World Cup qualifier against Egypt, but was ruled out of the game due to the knock.

Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez has since explained that Ghana were not to blame for the player’s injury.

“He had a kick during the game against Bournemouth, and after when he shot he was feeling it a little bit,” the Spanish tactician explained ahead of the game against Man United.

“He put some ice on it and said he was fine. Then he went away with the national team. He had a training session and they [Ghana] sent him back.

“It’s not the case that they were using him and then something happened. He had a little problem and then he went there, couldn’t play and he came back. It’s not that it’s their fault. It’s just something that happened.”

Benitez and Newcastle will hope Atsu returns to fitness and availability ahead of their match at home to Watford in the Premier League this coming Saturday.

Atsu: Newcastle United can do well without key players – 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers

by
Austin Ditlhobolo

Tuesday Aug 15, 2017. 18:00

Newcastle United midfielder Christian Atsu has urged his club team-mates to stick together following their defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

The Magpies were brushed 2-0 by Spurs in their first 2017/18 English Premier League (EPL) match at the St James’ Park in Newcastle on Sunday.

“We went into the game with a very strong mentality – trying to win. We did really well in the first half and made things difficult for them,” Atsu told the club’s official website.

“We created a couple of chances but after the red card, when we had ten men, it became really hard,”

“We had to stick together. Individually, we knew they were better than us, so we needed to play as a team. We did that,” the 25-year-old winger added.

“We need to believe in ourselves, and continue to stick with our game-plans. We just need to keep our focus, keep working hard and try to win our next game.”

Newcastle, who were promoted from the English Championship in April, 2017, had to substitute Paul Dummett and Florian Lejeune after they sustained injuries.

Atsu’s side are now scheduled to take on Huddersfield Town in their next league match which will be played at The John Smith’s Stadium on Sunday.

“The team is ready. Although we lost two players, you did not see any difference – you could see all the players are well-prepared for anything that happens,” the Ghanaian international said.

“We will need to win games before we become more confident, but I think the team is really solid and playing really well.

“We thank the fans for their support. They have been amazing. We will come back stronger to give them what they deserve.”

The Ghanaian is regarded as one of the best combative midfielders in Italian football and Torino may well struggle to hold onto his services through the European summer.

GHANASoccernet reports that Juve have made informal inquiries over the availability of the player, while Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez is said to be a big fan.

Acquah’s valuation in the transfer market is set at somewhere in the region of 8-million Pounds.
