Bielsa admits Leeds spied on all opponents this season

Leeds United’s legendary Argentine manager Marcelo Bielsa admitted on Wednesday he has spied on coaching sessions of all the Yorkshire side’s opponents this season, adding far more gasoline to the discussion more than the tactic.

Bielsa’s side are four points apparent at the leading of the Championship, England football’s 2nd tier, soon after beating Derby County 2- on Friday.

But the match was overshadowed by Bielsa’s admission he sent a club staff to spy on Derby’s coaching session a day right before the game.

In a assertion, Leeds proprietor Andrea Radrizzani apologised on Saturday for the incident, which is now the subject matter of a Football Association investigation.

Bielsa referred to as an impromptu press meeting on Wednesday, sparking rumours he could sensationally resign as he has in shock fashion at Lazio and Marseille in the earlier.

Nonetheless, the former Argentina manager instead offered up far more details on how he scouts the opposition in what he claimed is a bid to assist the FA’s investigation.

“I observed all the rivals we performed against. We watched all the coaching sessions right before we played them,” stated Bielsa.

“My goal is to make this less difficult for the investigation. By undertaking this I believe the feasible sanctions by the authorities.”

Derby manager Frank Lampard questioned Bielsa’s sportsmanship and refuted the justification of cultural differences with Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino insisting the apply is typical in Argentina.

But Bielsa was adamant what he has completed is not unlawful.

“As Frank Lampard stated, he won’t think that I did not have lousy intentions. He believes I violated the good play spirit. I have to adapt to the principles linked to the patterns of English football,” extra Bielsa.

“I did not consider to get an unfair sporting advantage. But I did it because it was not unlawful or violating particular regulations.”

Supported by his coaching staff members, Bielsa then talked journalists by way of his planning for matches with four several hours dedicated to analysing every single game the opposition has performed this season.

Famed for an attacking, type of football that has won admirers during spells coaching in Argentina, Chile, Spain and France, Bielsa has rejuvenated Leeds’ fortunes and is on the brink of bringing the club back again to the EPL League for the 1st time in fifteen yrs.

His coaching type has also proved to be an inspiration for the likes of Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone, Pochettino and Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, who has explained Bielsa as the most effective coach on the planet.

“I think he’s the most effective because I constantly consider to hear to what the players say about their manager. It’s the real fact,” Guardiola stated this 7 days.

“For the guys in demand of the major clubs it’s less difficult than the other ones. We win because we are in the fantastic clubs with the fantastic players. But anyone who is effective with him is a improved player and the teams are improved. Which is why he’s a exclusive manager and exclusive human being.”

Steven Gerrard Is New Rangers Manager

Rangers will not be using a gamble after getting Steven Gerrard as their new boss, says agent Martin Reilly.

But, according to the man who signifies Neil Lennon, the former Liverpool and England skipper will be  a danger if he does not get assurances about the income he will get to expand next season.

Gerrard — who has confirmed he took the Rangers job — has only been coaching for 10 months getting taken around the Anfield under-18s final summer months.

Pundits have questioned regardless of whether Rangers‘ intentions are smart given Gerrard’s deficiency of practical experience.

But Reilly points to the case in point of Lennon, who moved from manager of Celtic’s academy to initially-team with terrific success, and insisted Gerrard appointment could be a masterstroke by Gers chairman Dave King.

Nonetheless, right before the offer was struck, Reilly reckons Gerrard and his agent Struan Marshall will initially demand answers on the spending plan he will be given when they resume talks with Rangers chiefs.

“I am not a person for using pops at rookie managers for the reason that I had a person in Neil and he is been sensational,” reported Reilly.

“He took Celtic to the final 16 of the Champions League — a feat no-a person has occurred near to matching since.

“You require learning somewhere. Some people get even larger jobs than many others. Neil’s initial job was at Celtic and appear how profitable he was.

“The variance with Neil is that he had a stable composition in place at Celtic with Peter Lawwell in demand.

“But nobody actually appreciates wherever Rangers are at the second.

“If I was using a manager in there, the initial factor I’d want to know is what is the spending plan? I’d want to know that right before I even get started speaking about the deal. I’d want to know what they ended up scheduling on executing behind the scenes.

“If I failed to get the suitable answers then alarm bells would be ringing.”

Gerrard turned down the probability to get around at MK Dons in 2016 soon after deciding it was “far too quickly” to move into management just 4 months soon after hanging up his boots.

And Reilly reckons he will wander away once more if he does not like what Rangers have to say.

“Steven Gerrard is nobody’s mug and I am certain he will be executing his thanks diligence on them,” he reported.

“Rangers is for a person of one of the largest jobs in European football. But only if certain items are suitable.

“If it can be not suitable it could turn out to be a catastrophe.

“If Rangers are hoping to provide in someone who will draw in major-name players to Scotland, then Gerrard definitely ticks those boxes. But that also will take income.

“If Steven Gerrard telephones you up and asks, ‘Do you want to sign for Rangers?’, the majority of players will be 50 percent way here.

“But their next issue will be, ‘For how a great deal?’

“Rangers have acquired a few yrs to quit 10-in-a-row so they require getting this appointment suitable. But in management, you might be only as good as what is above you.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has admitted that the injury-enforced absence of Nigerian star Victor Moses has been a major blow to his team.

The Super Eagles wide-man has missed the last nine matches across all competitions for Chelsea, having picked up an injury in a 2-1 loss against Crystal Palace in mid-October.

Moses began training with the first team last week and was an unused substitute in Chelsea’s 1-1 draw at Liverpool this past weekend.

He could well make his comeback into the team during tonight’s Premier League clash at home to Swansea City.

“He is in contention but at the same time I have to make the best decision for every player,” Conte was quoted as saying by Football.London.

“For sure Victor is back from a bad injury and needs a bit of time to find the best physical condition. He is an important player for us.”

PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: Christian Atsu – Newcastle manager not blaming Ghana for injury – 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers

With Christian Atsu currently on Newcastle United’s injury list, manager Rafael Benitez has refused to blame Ghana for the player’s unavailability.

The 25-year-old Black Stars winger missed the Magpies’ 4-1 defeat away to Manchester United this past weekend with a thigh injury.

The player first sustained the injury while playing for Newcastle against his former side Bournemouth ahead of the recent international break.

He then flew out to join the Ghana squad ahead of their 2018 World Cup qualifier against Egypt, but was ruled out of the game due to the knock.

Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez has since explained that Ghana were not to blame for the player’s injury.

“He had a kick during the game against Bournemouth, and after when he shot he was feeling it a little bit,” the Spanish tactician explained ahead of the game against Man United.

“He put some ice on it and said he was fine. Then he went away with the national team. He had a training session and they [Ghana] sent him back.

“It’s not the case that they were using him and then something happened. He had a little problem and then he went there, couldn’t play and he came back. It’s not that it’s their fault. It’s just something that happened.”

Benitez and Newcastle will hope Atsu returns to fitness and availability ahead of their match at home to Watford in the Premier League this coming Saturday.

Nigerian international Isaac Success has been warned by Watford FC coach Marco Silva about his conduct at the club.

The promising striker was detained by police last month following an incident at a hotel in Hertfordshire, England.

“He needs to be careful – everyone needs to be careful – and know the right way,” Sliva told BBC.

“Everybody at the club knows the rules and their obligations as a professional.

“What we are talking about is one situation in September,” he added.

Success, who is nursing a knee injury, is yet to make any impact at the English Premier League club since joining Watford from Spanish side Granada in 2016.

Last season, he scored one goal from 19 games and has yet to feature for Silva in the league in the current campaign.

“We expect six to eight weeks. It’s a knee injury, a problem he had in one session here,” he explained

“It was a normal situation and looked nothing special at that moment but after examinations, the problem is bigger and now we need to wait for him.”

We can cope without Sadio Mane – Liverpool manager – 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers – Africa

Liverpool forward Sadio Mane

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp insists that his side can cope with the absence of Senegal star Sadio Mane.

The Teranga Lions attacker, who has already missed three domestic matches through suspension, is set to be out of action for five to six weeks after returning from international duty with a hamstring injury.

Liverpool were held to a goalless draw at Anfield by Manchester United on Saturday, another frustrating result for Klopp’s team.

Whether Mane would have given the Reds an extra attacking edge is up for debate, but he certainly would have been a good option for Klopp to have up his sleeve.

Yet the German manager refuses to acknowledge that Mane’s absence is something which will have an adverse affect on his team going forward.

“Obviously we can still play football without Sadio as we have had to do this in the past – much more than we would have wanted,” explained Klopp.

“He is the highest-quality player and was very unlucky with injury. A lot of players in this international break from different teams had injuries – it is a big problem with change of training, different rhythm. That is always a problem and you hope nothing will happen.

“On this occasion it was Sadio but no-one else. We can play without him even if we would love to have him in the line-up.”

Cote d’Ivoire and Cardiff City defender Sol Bamba has lavished praise at his manager, Neil Warnock, saying they have a good relationship.

The centre-back has described Warnock as a “father figure” to him when speaking after their 2-1 win Queens Park Rangers last weekend.

Warnock signed Bamba within a week of his appointment in October 2016, and the Ivorian has become a first-team feature in the Bluebirds’ defence.

AURIER GRANTED VISA AHEAD OF SPURS MOVE – REPORT

“He’s [Warnock] like a father figure to be honest,” said Bamba to the BBC.

“We’ve always been in contact and we’ve never managed to properly work together before.

“As soon as he had the chance to bring me in he did and as soon as I had the chance to work with him I took it.

“We’ve got a very good relationship – we don’t even need to talk, we understand each other. He’s given me a lot of confidence to express myself on the pitch.

“He’s very good with the lads, jokes around a lot but at the same time he’s straightforward and I think footballers appreciate that.

“When it’s not good he’ll tell you as it is and when it’s good he’s happy to praise you, and that

Zamalek manager Augusto Inacio lambasts club president for player transfers – 2017 CAF Champions League

Zamalek coach, Augusto Inacio

by
Phumzile Ngcatshe

Friday Jul 28, 2017. 12:00

Zamalek manager Augusto Inacio has lashed out at the club’s president, Mortada Mansour, saying the boss is spreading lies.

The war of words between the two seems to drag on, with the Portuguese manager accusing Mansour of lying about the players who may leave the club.

Reports suggest that Inacio has distanced himself from reports that he has decided to offload some key players in the transfer window.

UEFA BANS ERIC BAILLY FOR TWO MORE MATCHES

The reports prompted a furious response from Mansour who insisted Inacio was the one who demanded the likes of Mostafa Fathi and Stanley Ohawuchi be released.

“All reports concerning my alleged demand to offload Shikabala, Bassem Morsi and Ayman Hefni are not true,” Inacio said on Tuesday.

“The club’s president said that I asked him to offload Shikabala but this is completely false. He has been a regular starter in the team since my arrival.

“It is him (Mansour) who wants to offload Shikabala not me.”

On the other hand, the manager expressed unhappiness regarding the recent changes in his backroom staff where Tarek Yehia recently replaced one of Inacio’s Portuguese assistants.

“I’ve faced many problems since my arrival. He (Mansour) always appoints an Egyptian assistant who has an ambition to replace me, not to help me,” he added.

“If he wants to sack me I’m ready to leave. The problem is that the people around Mansour are afraid of him.

“If the chairman held a PEPSI can and told them that it’s actually Coca Cola, they would agree and would tell him it tastes great.”

The spat between the two reportedly started on Sunday when Inacio criticised the club’s hierarchy, saying the recent departures left his side short of options on the flanks.
