Coutinho poised to join Arsenal on loan

Marseille will today unveil the arrival of Tunisia international Aymen Abdennour, with the defender having completed a loan switch to the French club from Spanish side Valencia.

Having dropped down the pecking order at Los Che, Abdennour returns to France following two years in the Spanish La Liga.

The former Monaco centre-back was initially linked with a move to Russian club Zenit St Petersburg, but the 28-year-old has now completed a move back to the Ligue 1 where he initially made a name for himself at Toulouse


Abdennour passed his medical on Tuesday and will officially be confirmed as the club’s sixth signing of the current transfer window on Wednesday.

Omeruo pens new Chelsea deal, sent out on loan – 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers – Africa

Nigeria international Kenneth Omeruo has confirmed that he has extended his stay with English Premier League champions Chelsea till 2020.

The 23-year-old, though, will spend the 2017-18 season on-loan at Kasimpasa, returning to the club having spent last season with Turkish rivals Alanyaspor where he made 26 appearances in the Super League.

Omeruo, who joined the Blues in 2012, is yet to play for the club having spent the past five years out on loan at various club’s in the Netherlands, England and Turkey respectively.

The defender won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations with the Super Eagles, while he was also part of the West African’s 2014 FIFA World Cup squad.

Max Gradel joins Toulouse on loan – 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers – Africa

Bournemouth’s Ivorian attacker Max Gradel has joined French Ligue 1 side Toulouse on a season-long loan deal.

Sky Sports reports that the Cherries have relented in allowing the Elephants player to leave for the 2017/18 campaign, having already rejected a bid from Toulouse to sign the player permanently.

Gradel has already departed for France and will link up with his new teammates ahead of their clash against Ligue 1 heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain this weekend.

The 29-year-old has struggled to gain regular playing time at Bournemouth since his arrival from St Etienne in 2015.

Gradel suffered cruciate ligament damage early in his Cherries career and has also spent a chunk of last season away from the club representing his country at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

Austrian first division side SC Rheindorf Altach look set to sign Ghana striker Bernard Tekpetey on loan for the 2017/18 season.

GHANASoccernet reports that the 19-year-old, who is contracted to German Bundesliga giants Schalke 04, is being sent on loan to gain first-team experience.

The teenager joined Schalke in early 2016 after a successful trial period with the club. However, he has seen little playing time with the first team, instead appearing predominantly for the reserves.

Tekpetey, who was a member of Ghana’s squad at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, will hope to impress on loan in Austria, with his contract at Schalke set to come to an end in 2018.

Ghanaian international Agyemang Badu completes loan switch to Bursaspor – 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers – Africa

Ghanaian international midfielder Agyemang Badu has thanked Udinese for his loan switch to Bursaspor.

Badu has since thanked the management of the Italian side as he will now play his football in Turkey in the upcoming 2017/18 season.

Reports reveal that the 26-year-old will spend the next season at Bursaspor after playing 29 times for Udinese last season.


On the other hand, he also made five appearances at the 2017 CAF Africa Cup of Nations for the Black Stars in Gabon.

“Wow wow wow, what a wonderful family I have been with for the past 7 years,” Badu said on social media.

“The president of Udinese and his family, management members, technical team, medical team, physiotherapists, all my colleague footballers, the media and my lovely supporters of Udinese.

“Thank you thank you for everything. God bless us all.”

The West African has been at the club since 2010 after joining from Ghanaian side Berekum Chelsea.

Nigerian starlet Awoniyi leaves Liverpool on loan – 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers – Africa

English giants Liverpool FC have sent out Nigeria youth international Taiwo Awoniyi on another season-long loan deal.

The 19-year-old striker has joined Belgian First Division A side Royal Excel Mouscron ahead of the 2017/18 season.

Awoniyi spent the last two campaigns with German side FSV Frankfurt and Dutch outfit N.E.C on loan from the Reds.

Liverpool confirmed on their official website that the Nigeria Under-23 star had sealed his move to Mouscron.

A club statement read: “Taiwo Awoniyi will spend the duration of the 2017-18 season on loan at Royal Excel Mouscron.

“The striker, who signed for Liverpool in August 2015, joins up with the Belgian side following the beginning of their league campaign on Sunday.

“Awoniyi spent last term with NEC Nijmegen, for whom he scored three goals, having previously embarked on a loan stay at FSV Frankfurt in Germany.”

The marksman made 18 appearances in the Dutch Eredivisie last season for N.E.C and he netted twice in the process.

Despite not playing a single match for Watford, Gambian international Sulayman Marreh says he is not disappointed by being sent out on loan for the second time.

Marreh has been shipped out by the English Premier League side to a Spanish second-tier side Valladolid.

The release comes after the 21-year-old only joined the Hornets in June after his loan deal with another Spanish side Granada ended.


“I’m not disappointed the important thing is to get more playing time and prepare myself for the upcoming challenges,” he told BBC Sport.

“It could be anywhere​ at Watford or elsewhere. I’m looking forward to playing in the premier league in the coming year – it is a dream come true to sign for a Premier League club.”

Meanwhile, the midfielder is upbeat that his stint at Granada is going to help him ahead of his stay on loan to Valladolid.

“I had a great experience at Granada and I think that can help me this season,” adds Marreh.

“The language and the way of football is the same so am hoping to make use of this opportunity to add more experience and maturity to my game.”

Marreh has made eight international appearances for the Scorpions national team including last month’s 2019 CAF Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Benin.

Another loan spell on the cards for Bertrand Traore – 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers

According to L’Equipe, French side Olympique Lyon are keen on signing Chelsea’s Burkina Faso forward Bertrand Traore on loan.

The 21-year-old spent the 2016/17 season on loan at Dutch giants Ajax and helped them reach the UEFA Europa League final, including two goals against Lyon in the semifinal.

Traore has made just 16 appearances for Chelsea since joining from Auxerre in 2013 and is expected to have a third loan spell away from Stamford Bridge. The Stallions player has also spent time on loan at Vitesse Arnhem.

However, a move to another Premier League team is also a possibility, with West Ham United and Everton reportedly interested in signing the player.
