Kylian Mbappe is a Phenomenon
France midfielder, Blaise Matuidi has sung praises of his national teammate, Kylian Mbappe, tagging him a phenomenon after the Paris Saint Germain forward scored a brace in France’s 3-1 victory over Russia on Tuesday.
The former PSG player linked up with Mbappe with a tipping pass for the 19-year old to score his second of the evening. While speaking with reporters after the match, Matuidi said: “I think that Kylian is getting better and better. He is a phenomenon — absolutely extraordinary.
“Aside from that, I am a bit of a grizzled old veteran so it is sometimes necessary to pull him by his ears to get him to chip in defensively.”
The two goals Mbappe scored made him the youngest player to score a brace for France in the postwar era. Team legend, Christophe Dugarry, who won the 1998 World Cup and 2000 European Championship with France, compared him to Brazilian legend Ronaldo when he was breaking through as a teenager.
“Kylian, alone, took the offensive side of the game completely in hand,” Dugarry, who is now a pundit stated.
“He reminds of Ronaldo when he was just 19 years old — he is the same!”
The young sensation ended the game with a knock which might make him unavailable for the Coupe de la Ligue final against his old club, Monaco on Saturday.
