Ivorian international Franck Kessie snubbed English Premier League (EPL) giants Chelsea and top Italian Serie A side Napoli.

This is according to Kessie’s agent, George Atangana, who told Radio CrC that the central midfielder preferred a move to AC Milan.

The 20-year-old joined the Italian Serie A giants from Atalanta on a two-year loan deal prior to the current 2017/18 campaign.

“Kessie? Big clubs always want to sign top talents and there wasn’t only Napoli on him.” Atangana said.

“He evaluated many different offers and projects before making his final decision.

The hard-working midfielder has hit the ground running at Milan – having scored twice in 12 league appearances.

“He chose Milan since it was the start of a new and exciting project,” he added.

“They had been following him for some time and they moved quickly to get him.”

Milan will face Napoli in a league match at the Stadio San Paolo on Saturday.

Franck Kessie’s trademark goal celebration is performed in honour of his late father, the Ivory Coast star has revealed.

The AC Milan midfielder performs a military-style salute whenever he scores, and he has now explained that is is a tribute to his father who passed away when the player was just a boy of 11.

Kessie said of his celebration: “Dad was a footballer, then he became a soldier but he died of illness: I was 11. The military act is for him,” as per Serie A TIM on Twitter.

Kessie joined Milan from Atalanta ahead of the 2017/18 season, signing a two-year loan deal (the Rossoneri have an obligation to buy him outright).

The Elephants midfielder, who is often described as the ‘new Yaya Youre’, has scored two Serie A goals this season and will be looking to add to his tally when Milan host Roma this weekend.
