Borussia Dortmund have dropped Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from their squad for this weekend’s game against Stuttgart in the German Bundesliga, the club confirmed.

The 28-year-old axed from the traveling party due to “disciplinary reasons.”

Aubameyang has scored 15 goals in 17 appearances across all competitions this season – 10 of this coming in the league – but he will play no part in this weekend’s encounter due to a breach of discipline.

DORTMUND’S AUBAMEYANG PROMISES TO RECOVER HIS SCORING FORM

The Gabon international was suspended by the club last November, having embarked on a trip to Milan against club orders. The exact reason for his axing this time around is not yet clear.

The news will come as a double blow for Aubameyang who was eager to end his scoring drought having failed to find the back of the net in five consecutive matches.

Dortmund failed to win any of said matches as they now try to bring an end to a slump in form. The Black and Yellows started the season like a house on fire, but have since dropped to third place on the log standings.

Gabonese international Pierre Emerick Aubameyang has disclosed his readiness to score goals again for Borussia Dortmund.

The 28-year-old, who has failed to score for the German outfit in their last five games in all competitions, has accepted criticism for his struggles in front of goal.

“But that was not enough, the international break has done me very well again.

However, Aubameyang, who has netted 10 goals in the German Bundesliga this season, is a only a goal behind league top goalscorer Robert Lewandowski of Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski has backed German Bundesliga rival Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to return to his goal-scoring best.

The Gabon international, who beat his counterpart to the league’s golden boot accolade last season by scoring 31 goals, has suffered a goal drought as Borussia Dortmund’s recent woes continue.

Aubameyang hasn’t scored a goal in his last five games and has now gone 476 minutes without a goal for his club across all competitions.

The 28-year-old’s lack of form has coincided with a barren run for the Black and Yellows, with the club having now dropped to third on the log standings following a 3-1 defeat to their Bavarian counterparts.

“Everybody goes through these phases and the scorer’s job is the hardest one on the pitch anyway,” Lewandowski told German daily Bild on Tuesday.

“When you are on a good run, you score everything, but woe betide when it doesn’t work and you hit the crossbar instead of the net.

“Then a lot of things go through your head.

“It’s important to clear your head quickly and regain the old looseness, then I’m sure he’ll be successful again,” the Polish forward concluded.

He netted eight goals and as many assists as the Bundesliga newcomers finished runners-up to eventual winners, Bayern Munich.

Having already signed to join English Premier League giants, Liverpool next season, Keita is seen as Aubameyang’s challenger for the coveted gong.

Africa’s best player, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, will play no part in the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

The continent’s outstanding player, who has scored 15 goals in 14 appearances for Borussia Dortmund across all competitions this season, failed in his attempt to lead Gabon to a first ever world showpiece.

Born in France, Aubameyang opted to play for the Panthers at national level and what might have appeared as an obvious choice eight years ago – one wonders if he doesn’t rue the decision.

Over the past week we have seen Wissam Ben Yedder snub Tunisia’s approach, with the Sevilla forward desperate to represent Les Blues.

In fact, many of Africa’s top players weren’t even born on the continent with the likes of Hakim Ziyech (Morocco) & Riyad Mahrez (Algeria) born in the Netherlands and France respectively.

An added luxury or curse – most of Africa’s ‘cream’ qualify to represent two and sometimes even more nations at international level.

What might seem an obvious choice to us, might not be as straightforward for the footballer in question and while Aubameyang might live to regret his decision – who says he does?

The Borussia Dortmund attacker missed the Panthers’ back-to-back 2018 World Cup qualifying matches against Ivory Coast in the last international window.

It was speculated that the player’s disappointment at being unable to move before the end of the transfer window in September prompted his stay-away from the national team.

However, the prolific goal scorer will be back to boost Gabon when they face Morocco in Casablanca on Sunday night for their penultimate Group C clash.

“I was clear with the federation and the coach, that it wasn’t the moment for me,” Aubameyang told Canal+ Afrique when questioned about his absence for the double-header against the Elephants.

“I was in a difficult place mentally, and then there was the transfer market.

“However, I am going to return to the squad for the next match. There will be no more disagreements about it,” he added.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has revealed that he was subject to a big money offer from an unnamed Chinese Super League club.

The 28-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from Borussia Dortmund, but with the new league season approaching, it seems ever more likely that the Gabon international will remain in Germany.

According to Sunday’s edition of Die Welt, Aubameyang admitted that he had received a big money offer from China.

Dortmund, though, are confident that the speedster will not be sold with Aubameyang contracted to the club till 2020.

China’s Tianjin Quanjin are said to be chasing Aubameyang’s signature and the forward admits he is tempted by the money on offer in the Asian nation.

“Yes, I had an offer. But I think the Chinese were hard pressed to submit a bid to Borussia Dortmund,” Aubameyang told Die Welt.

“I think the structures are still not as professional as in Europe. It is normal that you think about it, if so much money is offered,” he said.

“I know that many people have said that you can not go to China, because the football (there) is a step back. But I think that anybody would think about it when he gets such an offer.”

The Gabon international ended the 2016-17 season as the German Bundeliga’s top scorer with 31 goals.

Pulisic says he hopes the Panthers international will stay put at the club for a long time because his leadership has made him a crucial player at the German Bundesliga outfit.

Although he was expected to move, he has been told he will continue his career in Dortmund, much to Pulisic’s delight.

Latest news surrounding the future of Gabon and Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is that he can forget about joining Paris Saint Germain.

The French Ligue1 giants are reportedly looking for an attacker elsewhere as they believe the price tag of 61 million Pounds is too much for them.

Reports in England reveal that the 27-year-old Gabonese international forward has been deemed too expensive by new PSG sporting director, Antero Henrique.

Although they are looking elsewhere, Henrique has reportedly advised the club to find a better option to boost their frontline as they hope to bring in a major player before the start of the new 2017/18 campaign.

Goal.com has it that PSG were close to securing a deal with the player before Henrique’s arrival at the club, but they will not overpay for the speedy forward.

On the other hand, Arsenal‘s Alexis Sanchez remains at the top of PSG’s wish list, though Manchester City and Bayern Munich are hot on the tail of the Chilean star.

Celtic’s Mouss Dembele could be lined up as a replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at Borussia Dortmund.

BVB’s Gabonese striker enjoyed another superb season for the German club and was the Bundesliga’s leading goal scorer with 31 strikes.

This has led to increased speculation that the player will leave in the European summer, with the likes of Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan strongly linked with the 27-year-old.

According to the Daily Record, Dortmund view 20-year-old Frenchman Dembele (who has Malian roots) as the ideal replacement.

Incoming BVB boss Lucien Favre, who is set to replace Thomas Tuchel, has already given his blessing to the move, especially as he tried to sign Dembele for Nice last year.

Dortmund could recoup as much as £60-70-million if they sell Aubameyang, while Dembele is rated at £30-million after scoring 32 goals for Celtic last season.

The Scottish giants will be very reluctant to sell, but are unlikely to resist a big-money offer.

Michael Zorc, Borussia Dortmund’s director of football, insists that they have had no contact from Paris Saint-Germain or any other club in regards to a move for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

News broke on Wednesday that the Panthers attacker had agreed personal terms with the Ligue 1 giants, who are prepared to pay 70-million Euros for his signature.

However, Zorc insists that there has been no contact over a transfer for Aubameyang.

“Until now we have not had an official offer from any club in the world,” said Zorc.

The 27-year-old has also been linked with Liverpool, Arsenal and AC Milan.

He has reportedly cleared out his locker at Dortmund ahead of what is expected to be a big-money transfer in the European summer.

Gabonese star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang looks set to make a big-money move from Borussia Dortmund to Paris Saint-Germain, according to BeIN Sports.

The 27-year-old Panthers striker has been one of Europe’s most-wanted players in the past two years, having scored 120 goals in 189 appearances for BVB since his move to Germany in 2013.

Aubameyang has reportedly put in a request for a transfer and Europe’s biggest clubs are circling.

Yet BeIN insists that PSG have the upper hand and are preparing a lucrative offer for the player, with hopes that the deal will be concluded within the next week.

The Gabon striker was the Bundesliga’s leading marksman this season with 31 goals, while his match-winning penalty in the DFB Pokal final against Eintracht Frankfurt this past weekend saw him bring up 40 goals across all competitions.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Borussia Dortmund finished the 2016/17 Bundesliga season as the leading goal scorer.

The 27-year-old scored two goals for Dortmund on the final day of the season to overhaul Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski at the top of the chart.

Aubameyang came into Saturday’s final round of fixtures on 29 goals, one behind Lewandowski on 30.

While Bayern cruised to a 4-1 win over Freiburg, the Polish striker was not amongst the scorers.

This allowed Aubameyang, who scored in the 42nd and 89th minutes of Dortmund’s thrilling 4-3 triumph over Werder Bremen, to leapfrog into first place with 31 Bundesliga strikes.

The Gabon attacker is a wanted man in the transfer market, having been linked with the likes of Chelsea, Real Madrid, AC Milan and Chinese Super League side Tianjin Quanjian.
