Zambia Under-20 international Emmanuel Banda has turned down Portuguese giants FC Porto and joined Belgian First Division A club KV Oostende.
The promising midfielder, who played for Zambia at the 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup finals in South Korea, has been on the books of Portuguese club S.C Esmoriz.
Oostende released the following statement after signing the youngster.
“The Zambian U20 international Emmanuel Banda (19) signed a contract until 2020. He is from the Portuguese Esmoriz and chose KVO above the Portuguese top club FC Porto.
“Emmanuel Banda played last season at Esmoriz, a club in a lower Portuguese division. He was also active with Zambia at the World Cup U20 and won the Africa Cup U20. There he noted himself with a fabulous goal against Mali. He also scored against the U20 in Germany.
“Banda He immediately came across several clubs, and was even close to a transfer to Porto Porto’s top club. However, it is KVO who managed to pull this talent.
“The Zambian is a game maker who stands out with his step technique and vista. At KVO, he is now given the opportunity to develop in full.
