Ghana will host Congo at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on September 1 for their next 2018 World Cup qualifying match.

This means the match will be staged on a working day and the Black Stars may struggle to have the same level of support they enjoyed in a 5-0 win over Ethiopia in 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at the same venue back in June. That match was played on a Sunday.

The return match between Congo and Ghana will be played four days later at the Stade Alphonse Massamba Debat in Brazzaville.

The Black Stars, now led by coach James Kwesi Appiah, need a strong set of results against the Red Devils to come back into contention for World Cup qualification.

They are currently placed third in Group E on one point from two matches, trailing leaders Egypt by five points.

The Pharaohs will face Uganda in a double-header, with their matches set for August 31 in Kampala and September 5 in Alexandria.
