We have our entire squad available except Neymar – Emery
Paris Saint-Germain Manager, Unai Emery has informed reporters that the team has no new injury worries as he named a strong squad to face the reigning Champions, Real Madrid as they hope to rescind a 3-1 deficit in the second leg of the Round of 16 ties. Kylian Mbappe, Marco Verrati, Edinson Cavani, Marquinhos and Javier Pastore were all declared fit for the clash.
However, the Paris club will have to do without their talisman, Neymar who is recovering from an ankle surgery after suffering an ankle problem in a league game a few days ago.
Emery will surely have to put his trust in his other stars for any hope of success. The Spanish tactician stated during his pre-match conference that everybody apart from the Brazil international would be ready to play and the Ligue 1 leaders’ final training session has proved him right.
“We trained on Sunday, and we have one more session before the match,” Emery told journalists at Parc des Princes on Monday.
“Marquinhos, Marco, Kylian and Edinson have all resumed training with the squad, unlike Javier.
“I hope he will train with the team today. If he does, everyone will be available except for Neymar.”
“Neymar, 26, is recovering well after the surgery on his fractured fifth metatarsal, but Mbappe has shaken off an ankle problem and Marquinhos a thigh issue.”
“Cavani, Verratti and Pastore have all returned after being rested for last weekend’s 2-0 win away at Troyes in Ligue 1.”
