Kane is one of the best strikers ever in the Premier League – Pochettino
Spurs Manager, Mauricio Pochettino was full of praises for his in-form striker, Harry Kane who notched his 100th Premier League goal in Tottenham’s 2-2 draw with Liverpool on Sunday.
The England International stepped up to score from the penalty spot with the last kick of the game after previously missing from the spot a few moments earlier to seal his place in history among the League’s very best in front of goal.
His Manager, Pochettino was quick to praise the consistent forward for the newly achieved feat: “He’s one of the best strikers. He can miss a penalty or a chance but he has the personality.”
“To score 100 Premier League goals, it is because you have big, big balls. It is no easy feat, it can only be achieved by the best of bests.”
Liverpool Manager, Jurgen Klopp has earlier commented about the game’s officiating which he believed to be below par especially after two penalties were given against his side. However, Pochettino claimed that the referee has a really good game.
“I congratulated him, to show the character that they (officials) showed in this moment,” he added.
“It was difficult to know if they were right at this moment and then in the dressing room I confirmed they were right in every single decision.
“Sometimes you complain about them, me no because I decided a long time ago to stop complaining about referees.
“But when they are right and show character, I think it is important to recognize and congratulate them because they have a difficult job.”
