Benitez talks to Mundo Deportivo about Coutinho transfer

Former Real Madrid Manager, Rafael Benitez while speaking with Spanish newspaper, Mundo Deportivo sang praises of his former player Philippe Coutinho after the Brazilian completed his anticipated transfer to Barcelona.

Coutinho finally departs Liverpool [which also happens to be a club Benitez has worked with] this weekend and with Benitez’s experience while managing Coutinho at their time at Inter Milan, he shared some words with the newspaper.

He stated that he [Coutinho] ‘had everything to succeed’ and he expects him to become successful at Nou Camp. He explained that although Inter Milan wanted more from the now ex-Liverpool talisman, they were convinced of his skill and talent and they must be having some regrets now for letting him go so cheaply to Liverpool at that time.

The Newcastle Manager continued his claim by saying: “He had everything despite his youth and a wide margin for improvement… We were struck by the great vision he had to give the last pass, the final one. Something very important in football. It was very complete.”

Coutinho’s transfer to Barcelona will be the most expensive business in January till date and Newcastle fans will be hoping that Benitez will be able to do some fine business this month too although they are certain it will only be a less expensive one.
