Wydad Casablanca head coach Lhoussaine Ammouta has expressed his club’s desire to reach the 2017 FIFA Club World Cup final.
The CAF Champions League holders qualified for the world showpiece for the very first time following victory of Al Ahly – on aggregate – in the final of Africa’s premier cup competition.
“We’re targeting the final,” Ammouta told FIFA.com.
“We can’t afford to make too many mistakes because the minor details make all the difference in football. Our players acquired lots of experience in the Champions League and now hope to sign for clubs abroad.
“They [the Wydad players] can show what they’re capable of in this competition and catch the eye of the big European teams. Their desire to progress ought to help us get good results in the Emirates.”
The Moroccan club kick-off their campaign with a clash against CONCACAF champions Pachuca on the 9th of December in Abu Dhabi.
